Moore Advances To Semifinals At Kentucky Amatuer

Murray State golfer Anna Moore won a pair of matches as she tries for back-to-back titles at the Kentucky State Women's Amateur Championship at Elizabethtown Country Club in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

As the top seed in the event, Moore defeated  Murray State incoming freshman Payton Carter 2&1 in the morning round and then took down Molly Bebelaar in the afternoon match 5&4.
Moore, is trying to win the Kentucky State Amateur title after she won it in 2017.
She plays a semifinal match at 8 a.m. ET Wednesday and if she can win, then it's on to the championship match at 1:30 p.m. ET.
Moore is the only Racer still playing among the four that started the event. Jane Watts won her first match of the event from the fifth seed with a 3&2 win over Michaela, but was eliminated in the second match of the day by Kaitlyn Riley 6&4.
DAY ONE - TUESDAY, JUNE 26

Moore, who just helped the Racers to their second-straight Ohio Valley Conference championship last April and to a subsequent back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Tournament, has a bye in the opening round of the championship match-play bracket and plays an incoming Murray State Racer Tuesday morning.

Moore face Racer incoming freshman Payton Carter, who defeated Madison Chaney in Monday's first match 4&3.

Other current Murray State student-athletes in the Kentucky Amateur field include Jane Watts and Taylor Church. Watts also got a bye in round one as the fifth seed and faces Michaela Jarman. Church lost 5&4 to Caroline Moore.
