Moore Advances To USGA United States Women's Amateur

Murray State golfer Anna Moore continued her excellent summer performance by qualifying for the 2018 U.S. Amateur after she carded an even par 72 Monday (July 9) to get one of seven spots that advanced out of the qualifier on the Chateau Elan Golf Club in Braselton, Georgia.

Moore, a senior from Hopkinsville, Kentucky, advances to the United States Golf Association U.S. Women's Amateur Championship to be played (August 6-12) at The Golf Club of Tennessee in Kingston Springs.

Moore has already had a great 2018 in helping the Racers to the program's 11th Ohio Valley Conference championship in April, which pushed MSU to its fourth NCAA Appearance in May. She also earned her first selection to the All-OVC Women's Golf Team. In June, she won her second-consecutive Kentucky State Women's Amateur Championship.

Moore joins recent Murray State players Delaney Howson and Alli Weaver, who also competed in USGA national championship events in 2011. Howson played in the U.S. Amateur and Alli played in the
USGA Pub-Links Championship.
