Racers Fall Of The Pace At Dolenc Invitational

The Murray State men's golf team has a spot in 15^th place after the first two rounds of the Derek Dolenc Invitational, hosted by SIUE at the Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Illinois.

The Racers carded scores of 300-304=604 and led Loyola-Chicago (606) and trailed 14^th place Northern Iowa (603).

Gabe Wheeler led the Racers with a spot in 25^th place on rounds of 71-74=145, while Justin Wendling and Dalton Bagwell shared 61^st place. Wendling had scores of 76-76=152 and Bagwell 75-77=152. Connor Coombs had scores of 78-77=155 and was in 78^th place, while Quinn Eaton was in 94^th place on scores of 80-88=168.

MSU's Rhett Cardwell is in the event as a solo player and had a spot in 91^st place on scores of 77-84=161.

Host SIUE was the leader at 566, ahead of Omaha (569), Bradley (570) and UT Martin (573).

Gateway National plays to a length of 7,092 yards and to a par of 71.

The final round is set for 8 a.m. Tuesday morning.
