Knight Leads Racers At APSU Intercollegiate Through 36 Holes

After winning here in 2017, Murray State's Austin Knight is in the hunt for the individual title again at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate at Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tennessee.

Knight, a senior from Hopkinsville, Ky., carded rounds of 71-71 for a 2-under-par total of 142 which was good for a spot in ninth place in the field of 71 competitors. Other MSU scores and standings included Avery Edwards and Connor Coombs sharing 22nd place. Edwards had rounds of 70-75-145 and Connor Coombs had scores of 75-70=145. Dalton Bagwell posted scores of 78-72=140 and was in 48th place and James Boone was in 59th place on rounds of 75-79=154.

The Racers were in sixth place in the field of 11 squads. UT Martin was the leader at 561, with Austin Peay (564), SIUE (565), Missouri State (567) and Belmont (569) made up the top-5.

MSU's Justin Wendling is in the event as an individual and was in 30th place after scores of 72-75=147.

Jack Story of UTM was the medalist leader with a one shot lead on scores of 66-70=136. Michael Busse of Austin Peay was one shot behind after scores of 68-69=137.

The final round is set for Tuesday morning at 9 a.m.

The Greystone Golf Club is a par-72 layout and is playing to a length of 7,000 yards.

From 2010-13, the OVC Championship was contested at GreyStone. During these four events in Dickson, the Racers won the title in 2010 for head coach Eddie Hunt and placed third in 2011 and 2012 and fifth in 2013.
