Wheeler, Coombs Lead Racers Ater Day One at Nichols Intercollegiate

The Murray State men's golf competed in the first round of the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate at the Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tennessee, Sunday, carding a 12-over 372.
Gabe Wheeler and Connor Coombs each shot a one-over 73 which is good enough for 22nd place after day one. Austin Knight is in 60th place after shooting 76 while Dalton Bagwell and Avery Edwards are 71st and 75th respectively after shooting a 78 and 79. James Boone is also tied for 71st after shooting 78 as an individual.
Lee University is the leader after round one after shooting a combined 12-under 348. Lee's Scott Odell and Eastern Kentucky's Martin Eliasson are the individual leaders, both shooting 5-under 67.
The River Course at Sevierville is playing to a par of 72 at 6,972 yards.
