Holmslykke Honored As NCAA Elite 90 Award Winner

Murray State senior Linette Holmslykke is playing this week at the NCAA Women's Golf Championship finals where she was honored Wednesday with the Elite 90 award.

The Elite 90, an award founded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his 37482

or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The Elite 90 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's championships.

This honor marks the second in the 2018-19 school year for Murray State Athletics after Racer senior Meike Drewell was honored at the NCAA Rifle Championship. The Racers now join Maryland and Stanford as the only Division I schools to win multiple Elite 90 awards this year.

Holmslykke graduated from Murray State last weekend where she was named the top graduate in finance. She has been named to the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll in all three of her years at MSU and in 2017 she won the OVC's academic Medal of Honor award.

Holmslykke gets going in the NCAA Championship Friday morning with a first round tee time of 8:10 a.m. CT.
