Watford Garners OVC Player of the Week Honors

Miyah Watford has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week for her outstanding performances in last week's competitions.
Watford began the 2019 campaign by netting a goal against Big East opponent Xavier in Murray State's season opener. She recorded a team-high seven shots (four on goal) to lead the Racers on the day. Watford then built on that early momentum by tallying a pair of goals against her former team as Murray State defeated Samford 2-0 on Sunday afternoon. She would once again fuel an electric Racer offense with a team-best four shots (two on goal) to cap her outstanding start to the 2019 season.
The OVC names an offensive player, defensive player, and a goalkeeper in each round of the weekly awards. Watford becomes the first Murray State player to earn the OVC Player of the Week title since Karsyn Hasch and Alex Steigerwald both earned the recognition in the defensive and goalkeeping categories on October 2, 2018, and the first to offensive player to be named since Abby Jones captured the honor on August 21, 2018.
The Racers return to action on Friday when they host Indiana at Cutchin Field at 3:00 p.m.
