Freshman Beck Fires 64 At EKU Intercollegiate

Murray State freshman Walker Beck of the Murray State men's golf team went from 51^st place to seventh from the first to the second rounds at the EKU Intercollegiate Eastern Kentucky University Club at Arlington.

After a morning 76 at the par-70 Arlington layout, Beck posted a 6-under-par 64 in the afternoon round. His even-par 140 score was good for a spot in seventh place, four shots off the lead of Cleveland State's Zach Robbins Cleveland State 68-68=136. Beck, playing the even as an individuals had the best score in the field of 74 players through 36 holes with the second round 64.

As a team, the Racers finished the first 36 holes at the EKU Intercollegiate with a spot in 11^th place at 593. MSU carded scores of 296-297=593 and were leading Tennessee State (613) and just behind Evansville (586) and Ohio (586).

Avery Edwards had a spot in 23^rd place on scores of 73-70=143, while Connor Coombs and Dalton Bagwell shared a spot in 53^rd place. Coombs had scores of 72-79=151 and Bagwell posted scores of 74-77=151. James Boone had rounds of 77-75=152 and was in 59^th place, with Justin Wendling in 63^rd place on scores of 78-85=153.

The EKU University Club will play to a par of 70 and a length of 6,623 yards.
