Picchi Leads Racers Through Round 2 At USA Intercollegiate

The Murray State women's golf squad moved up a spot in round two of the USA Intercollegiate, hosted by South Alabama at Magnolia Golf Club (Crossings Course) in Mobile.

The Racers posted scores of 294-297 and shared seventh place with Georgia State at 591. MSU led South Alabama (595) and Grand Canyon, each at 595 and trailed Western Kentucky and Arkansas State, each at 582.

Freshman Ana Picchi surged into 11th place Sunday with a 1-under-par 71 and had a spot in 11th place in the field of 94 players. Other MSU scores and positions included Raeshya Surendran and Payton Carter sharing 29th place. Surendran had scores of 71-77=148, while Carter posted scores of 74-74=148. Sarah McDowell was in 52nd place on rounds of 76-75=151 and Eliza Kho was in 71st place after scores of 77-78=155.

MSU's Lucila Puente Rodriguez carded a 79 in round two after withdrawing in the opening round.

UAB was the 36-hole leader at 570, ahead of North Florida (580), Houston Baptist (580) and Troy (581).

The Crossings Course is playing to a par-72 and a length of 6,002 yards.

The third and final round is set for Monday morning in Mobile.
