Racers Battle In Round One At Kentucky

Freshman Ana Garcia Picchi led the way for the Murray State Racers' women's golf in round one at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational at the University Club of Kentucky in Lexington.

Picchi had a spot in 24^th place in the field of 75 competitors after she carded a 3-over-par 75.

Other Murray State scores and positions includes Raeshya Surendran in 33^rd place after a 76 and Eliza Kho in 56^th place after a 79. Saran McDowell and Payton Carter shared 63^rd place after each carded an 81. Lucila Puente Rodriguez de Austria is playing the event as an individual and was in 71^st place with an 82.

Through 18 holes, there was a two-way tie for the medalist lead between Mathilde Delavallade of Penn State and Carlota Palacios of Tulane as each shot a 3-under-par 69.

In Saturday's second round, the Racers will be paired with Akron and Marshall. McDowell will hit the Racers' first shot of the day at the 10^th tee at 8:30 a.m. ET.
