Surendran Has Low Round Of The Day For Racers At UK Event

The Murray State Racers' women's golf team shaved 11 strokes off their score in round two and moved up a spot to 11^th place in Saturday's round played at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational at the University Club of Kentucky in Lexington.

The Racers have posted scores of 311-300=611 and stand in 11^th place, ahead of Marshall (618) and Cincinnati (623) and behind Indianapolis (604) and Akron (602). Host Kentucky was the leader at 572, with Penn State (580), Eastern Kentucky (588), Western Kentucky (590) and Middle Tennessee (592) making up the top-5.

Racer senior Raeshya Surendran had the low round of the day with a 2-over-par 74 to go with her first round 76 for a 150 today, while freshman Ana Garcia Picchi was in 29^th place on scores of 75-76=151. MSU's Sarah McDowell and Payton Carter shared 54^th place as each posted scores of 81-75=156. Eliza Kho was in 70th place on scores of 79-80=159. Lucila Puente Rodriguez de Austria, playing as an individual, was in 75^th place on scores of 82-83=165.

With 18 holes remaining on Sunday, Carlota Palacios of Tulane was the medalist leader on rounds of 69-71=140.

In Sunday's final round, the Racers will be paired with Indianapolis and Marshall in a shotgun start at 9 a.m. ET.
