Skirka Announces Signing Of Three Student-Athletes To The Class Of 2021

Trio of signees coming to Murray in Fall of 2021
Murray State baseball coach Dan Skirka announced the signing of three student-athletes to the class of 2021.

John Orberson (Campbellsville, Ky.), Kyle LaVanchy (Wadesville, Ind.) and Carson Garner (Franklin, Tenn.) join the Racers in 2021.

"We are really excited about adding these three gentlemen to our baseball family. They are outstanding baseball players who will represent our program to the standards we expect," said Skirka. "We were lucky enough to get off campus to see them and get them all on campus for visits before the shutdown in March of 2019. Today is a great start to the class of 2021, and we look forward to adding to it!"
John Orberson – 6'2" – OF – Campbellsville High School – Campbellsville, Ky. Â
From Campbellsville High School in Campbellsville, Ky., John Orberson is a 6'2" outfielder.

Orberson is ranked the No. 2 outfielder and No. 20 player overall in the state of Kentucky. He is an athletic, physical left-handed hitter that hits and runs well. He is projecting to hit in the top to middle of the lineup. Orberson was coached by Blake Milby at Campbellsville High School.

Kyle LaVanchy – 5'11" – INF – North Posey High School – Wadesville, Ind.
 From North Posey High School in Wadesville, Ind., Kyle LaVanchy is a 5'11" middle infielder.Â
 LaVanchy is ranked the No. 6 shortstop and No. 58 player overall in the state of Indiana. He is a high energy and plus defender and can run. He is a  competitor and a leader on the field, taking charge on the defensive side of the ball. LaVanchy was coached by Mark Kirkman at North Posey High  School.

Carson Garner – 6'2" – INF – Franklin High School – Franklin, Tenn.
From Franklin High School in Franklin, Tenn., Carson Garner is a 6'2" middle infielder.

Garner is ranked the No. 6 shortstop and No. 43 player overall in the state of Tennessee. He is an athletic player with a plus arm and the ball jumps off his bat. Garner is a versatile player who can play anywhere on the field. He was coached by Wally Whidby at Franklin High School.
