Former Racer Linette Holmslykke Makes Hole-In-One In European Tour Debut

A year ago, Linette Holmslykke was about to start her senior spring season with the Murray State Racers, a year later, she's playing on the Ladies European Tour at the Australian Classic at the Bonville Golf Club.

Not only did Holmslykke make the cut and finish 61st on scores of 74-72-75-72=293, the 2019 Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year made a hole-in-one in the final round. In professional golf, making an ace usually brings with it a nice prize. Holmslykke's prize was a Mitsubishi ASX car. She made the hole-in-one on the 148-meter par-3 17th hole.

"It's funny, because this is my first professional event and so to get a hole-in-one, it's amazing," said Holmslykke to the LadiesEuropeanTour.com.

Holmslykke summed up a big week in her budding professional career.

"It's been a lot of fun. I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be. Everyone has been so nice and helpful. Everyone was so helpful at Q-School a few weeks ago and it's just been the same. It's money that we play for now, but everything else feels like a college tournament where everyone knows each other and is so happy for each other."

Holmslykke stays in Australia for the next tour stop (Feb. 27-March 1) at the Dubbo Golf Club for the New South Wales Open.
