Kho Leads Racers In Round One At Kiawah Island

The Murray State women's golf team began play Sunday at the Kiawah Island Classic in Kiawah Island, South Carolina, in a field of 53 teams and 264 players in the largest collegiate golf event in NCAA D-I.

The Racers were 34^th after carding a score of 313 in the opening round, tied with Oakland and just ahead of Longwood and Winthrop at 314.

Eliza Kho led the Racers with a spot in 48^th place on a score of 74, while Raeysha Surendran was in 87^th place after a 76. Payton Carter scored a 78 and was in 123^rd place. T224 Lucila Puente Rodriguez de Austria carded an 85 for a spot in 224^th and Charli Doss was in 242^nd place after an 87.

The Osprey Point course will play as a par 72 and a distance of 5,984 yards, while Oak Point is also a par 72 and plays to 5,977 yards.

The Racers play round two Monday at Kiawah Island.
