Racers Seek to Bounce Back Sunday at Kentucky

Murray State Travels to Lexington for Clash with In-State Rival
Murray State Women's Soccer will travel to the University of Kentucky on Sunday (Sept. 12) for a 3 pm match with the Wildcats at Bell Soccer Complex in Lexington, Kentucky. The match is the first between the two schools since 2016.

The Racers are coming off a defeat against Indiana University on Thursday (Sept. 9) but have a chance to pickup a big win against an SEC foe in Kentucky. Murray State enters the match with a 4-2 record on the season and are led offensively by Abby Jones who has three goals and an assist on the year, good enough for an OVC best 7 points. Symone Cooper and Lauren Payne are tied with Jones for the team and OVC lead with three goals each. Hailey Cole leads the OVC with three assists on the year, including a two-assist game against Florida International on September 5th.

Defensively Murray State is led by reigning OVC Defender of the Week Audrey Henry, Reigning OVC Goalkeeper of the Week Jenna Villacres who has 28 saves over the Racers first six games, and Reigning OVC Defender of the Year Izzy Heckman who leads Murray State with seven shots on goal.
