Amundson announces 2023 softball schedule
Murray State softball head coach, Kara Amundson, announces the 2023 game schedule on Tuesday.

The Racers have five preseason tournaments, starting at the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Abilene Christian.

"We are looking forward to the competition that our 2023 schedule brings, including opening at Abilene Christian where recent Hall of Fame inductee, Jessica Twaddle, coaches," Amundson said.

Murray State will travel to the Troy State Tournament the following weekend (Feb. 17-19) before hosting the Racer Classic (Feb. 24-26). The Racers return on the road to play at the Mississippi State tournament (March 3-5) before hosting another Racer Classic (10-12) to close preseason tournaments.

"The preseason tournaments will bring a variety of teams, including some that our program has never faced before. The competition of the preseason will definitely aid in our preparation to face our new Missouri Valley opponents for conference play," said Amundson.

MSU then gears up for its inaugural Missouri Valley Conference season, opening the campaign at home against Northern Iowa, March 17-19.

The two-month MVC campaign will wrap at the MVC Tournament hosted by Southern Illinois, May 10-13.

"Even with being the new kids on the block in the MVC, we hope to make some noise right away. We are looking forward to hitting the ground running in February!" said Amundson.
