Griselda Revolorio has won the MVC Goalkeeper of the Week for the second time this season.
Senior Hailey Cole and freshman Griselda Revolorio have won the Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
This is the first time Cole has received a weekly award in her career, and Revolorio's second time winning goalkeeper of the week this season.
Cole, a native of Nicholasville, Kentucky, led the Racers against UNI with two first-half goals coming off of free kicks. She added her third goal of the week with a game-winner against Illinois State in the 31st minute.
"Hailey has been fantastic for us," head coach Matt Lodge said. "She is really taking over games lately and showing her class. I believe she is one of the best midfielders in the MVC and she has lots more to come!"
Revolorio conceded just one goal in 180 minutes in goal against UNI and Illinois State, totaling seven combined saves on 19 shots faced in the two matches. She currently sits with the second-highest save percentage (0.848) and the second-lowest goals allowed average (0.73) in the conference this season.
"Gigi continues to show a calm and composed head at the back," Lodge added. "Each week she improves something in her game, and she has such a high work ethic. [It's] hard to believe she's just a freshman."
The Washington, Indiana native is the first Racer to notch two Player of the Week awards in the same season since Izzy Heckman in 2019 (10/8/2019, 10/29/2019).
With two Racers selected for players of the week for the second time this season, it is the first time two players have been selected for multiple weeks since 2017 (Nyomi Devine/Alex Steigerwald 9/26/2017, Harriet Withers/Alex Steigerwald, 10/3/2017).
