Haake Paces Racers At The Buddy

The Murray State men's golf team saw Brady Haake jump to a spot in sixth place after 36 holes of The Buddy Championship, a 54-hole tournament at the home of Racer Golf, Miller Memorial Golf Course in Murray, Kentucky.

Haake carded scores of 68-71=139 and was five shots off the lead of Evansville's Caleb Wassmer at 134.

MSU's Jakob Wellman was playing the event as a solo player and was in 10^th place on rounds of 70-71=141.

The Racers carded team scores of 289-282=571 for a spot in third place behind UE at 565 and leader Southern Indiana (556).

With the launch of The Buddy, it marks the beginning of MSU men's golf to restart their home fall event for the first time since 2019. The event was the idea of Coach Jacob Miller as a way to honor the coach that started men's golf at Murray State in 1961, Buddy Hewitt.
