Amundson Signs Six on National Signing Day

Racers Softball announces six additional Racers on National Signing Day.
Murray State softball head coach Kara Amundson announces six new signees for the class of 2024. This class will provide depth in all parts of the field.

"We couldn't be happier with how this signing class has shaped. We have solid pitching, good catching, speed, and power in this class," said Amundson. Â

"Most importantly, we have a group of outstanding young women that we hope will make an impact at Murray State, both on and off the field! We are happy to have them officially as part of the Murray State Racer family!"

Myrissa Combs joins the Racers from Ohio, where she played catcher and utility for the Ross High School Rams.
Â
The Ross, Ohio, native served as the varsity team captain for three years. She was named First Team All-Conference in her first and second years of high school.Â
Â
Combs is a National Honor honoree intending to study nursing at Murray State.

Karlye Graber hails from Montgomery, Indiana.
Â
Graber pitches for the Barr Reeve High School, helping the Vikings to their 2022 and 2023 Sectional Championships. She was named 2022 and 2023 Pitcher of the Year for their local newspaper after breaking the high school record for career and single-season strikeouts in 2022. She surpassed 300 varsity career strikeouts in 2023, renewing her single-season strikeouts record and breaking an offensive record with eight home runs.

The Academic Honors Diploma honoree intends to major in environmental science.

Katy Huels looks to add depth in the Racers' outfield.

The Carlyle, Illinois, is a varsity letter winner for the Mater Dei Catholic High School. Huels helped the Knights to a Regional Championship in 2022. She also earned the MVC and Offensive Player award at Mater Dei Catholic.

Huels intends to major in business accounting at Murray State.

Emerson McKinnis joins the Racers from Auburn, Kentucky.

McKinnis plays as a catcher and utility for the Logan County High School, where she helped the Cougars to a Regional Championship in 2023. She holds the region's single-season home run record with 17 and is the Logan County High School all-time leader in home runs.Â

The First Team All-State Academic honoree intends to study civil engineering at Murray State.

Kenley Minor will be an addition to the Racers' infield.
Â
Minor played shortstop and third-baseman for the South Vermillion High School Wildcats. She holds the school record for batting average, on-base percentage, and runs scored. Was named All-conference team for three years and was included in the All-State team twice.

The National Honor Society honoree intends to major in business and insurance.

Hannah Sutton hails from Avon, Indiana.
Â
Sutton plays as a pitcher and utility for the Avon High School Orioles, holding the school record for single-season home runs with 15. She helped the Orioles to three consecutive sectional championships and two conference championships.

She intends to study nursing at Murray State.
