Murray State baseball is set to host Kent State at Johnny Reagan field for a two-game swing on Tuesday and Wednesday with each game set to start at 3 p.m. This is the first ever meeting between the Racers and Golden Flash.

Sophomore third baseman Carson Garner has been a pivotal bat to the Murray State lineup throughout the season leading the team with a .385 batting average, four extra-base hits, and seven RBIs. In four games for the Racers this week, Garner pieced together a .533 batting average with a double, a triple, and an impressive 1.321 OPS against UT Martin and UAB. The Franklin, Tennessee native had eight hits for the week while also playing flawlessly at the hot corner earning a 1.000 fielding percentage across the four-game stretch.

The Racers picked up a dramatic win over UAB on February 25, scoring seven runs in the ninth inning to defeat the Blazers 12-6. Trailing through eight innings, the Racers went for a seven-run outburst in the ninth, highlighted by Logan Bland's first home run as a Racer coming in the form of a grand slam. The round-tripper expanded the Murray State lead from two runs to six runs to help slam the door shut for the victory.
