Garcia Leads Racers In Panama City

The Racers are starting their spring season in the panhandle of Florida
Murray State's Alma Garcia carded the low round of the day with a 75 at the Lady Bison Classic at Bay Point Golf Club in Panama City, Florida.
The Racers are beginning their spring season on the Jack Nicklaus Course at Bay Point and Garcia is in 13th place overall in the field of 85 competitors and the leader of the 10 individual players in the tournament.
The Racers were in ninth place after the first day of the 54-hole championship with a 321, just behind Dayton (319) and Morehead State and South Dakota State (314).
Payton Carter led the Racer team with a spot in 22nd place on a score of 78, while Eliza Mae Kho was in 29th position after a 79. Kaitlyn Zieba's 81 was good for a spot in 41st place, with Ana Picchi in 51st place on an 83 and Ellie West in 81st place on a score of 92.
McKenna Stahl is MSU's second solo player and was in 51st place with an 83.
Host Lipscomb was the first-round leader (291) with FGCU (295), North Alabama (303), Charleston Southern (304) and UNC Asheville (306) rounding out the top-5.
Lipscomb's Lauren Thompson was the medalist leader after a 68.
Monday's second round begins with an 8 a.m. Central Time shotgun start.
