Racers Facing Rough Weather Day At GSU Spring Invitational

The Racers are playing their ninth competition of the 2022-23 season
The Murray State women's golf team and part of a field of 16 teams, faced some rainy conditions in the first day of competition at the GSU Spring Invitational, hosted by Georgia State at Rivermont GC in Johns Creek, Ga.
Because of a very wet course at Rivermont, the teams did not finish the second round as nightfall came. The plan for Tuesday morning is an 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time shotgun start to finish the second round. The final round begins immediately after the second round ends.
After the morning 18, the Racers had carded a 307 and had a spot in 10th place. The Racers were five shots behind Seton Hall and a pair ahead of Appalachian State. Lipscomb, Georgia State and Troy shared the lead at 296.
With most of their second round completed, the Racers are playing well and are second in the field in total pars. MSU's McKenna Stahl is one hole from finishing her second round and shares the lead in the field of 85 players with 29 pars. Payton Carter had MSU's best round one score with a 76 and was in 28th place.
