Signees Ava Wilson and Addison Barnes are set to join the program in the spring.
Murray State women's soccer saw four commits officially sign to be Racers this week as part of the 2025 signing class. Ava Wilson, Addison Barnes, Anna Kolkmeier and Addison Howell are set to join head coach Matt Lodge's squad.
"I am looking forward to having our newcomers join us," head coach Matt Lodge said. "This class brings in a lot of creativity and players that want to score goals."
Ava Wilson stays in-state, joining the program out of Lexington, Kentucky. She is set to graduate from Henry Clay High School in December and will join the team ahead of the Spring 2025 semester.
Wilson was a four-year varsity starter at Henry Clay and was named team captain for her last two years. During her high school career, she helped lead her team to a 42nd District championship in 2022. Wilson was a two-time All-District Tournament Team selection in 2023 and 2024, as well as being named to All-Region teams. She made the Region 11 Second Team in 2023 and First Team in 2024.
She was awarded the Rookie of the Year Award in 2021 and the 110% Award in 2023.
Barnes remains in her hometown of Murray to play for the Racers after graduating from the Liberty Unviersity Online Academy. She is one of Lodge's additions to the front line as a forward, and intends to major in Civil Engineering at Murray State.
Barnes will join alongside Wilson for early enrollment and join the team in the spring.
"Barnes and Wilson join us in January and I'm excited to get them integrated with the current group," Lodge said.
Kolkmeier comes to Murray State from Old Monroe, Missouri after attending Fort Zumwalt North High School, where she will graduate from following the upcoming spring semester. She was a three-year varsity starter for the Panthers, where she has hailed as a dominant midfielder and center back.
She helped lead her squad to a runner-up finish in the Orchard Farm Tournament in a match that saw overtime play and ended on a penalty shootout. Kolkmeier was also named to the Academic All-Conference team all four years of her high school career.
Howell joins Lodge and the Racers out of Franklin, Tennessee and graduates from Ravenwood High School in the spring of 2025. She played for Tennessee Soccer Club 07 ECNL since she was in middle school, where she saw her team make it to nationals every year.
Howell was a four-year starter at Ravenwood and helped lead her team to the state tournament on two separate occasions. Her junior year, the Raptors made it to the state championship finals after she scored game-winners in the regional finals and state quarterfinals, ending the season as the second-best team in the state of Tennessee.
