Patterson Leads Racers Upward In Texas State Invitational Final

The Racers played for the first time in the Lone Star State when they compete in the Texas State Invitational

The Murray State women's golf team moved up two spots for an eighth-place finish at the Texas State Invitational in New Braunfels at the Texas State Invitational at Landa Park Golf Club.

The Racers bested 11 teams in the field in the final round and improved in each round with a final score line of 322-305-304=931, to finish ahead of fellow Missouri Valley Conference team Drake at 933.

Freshman Patti Patterson paced the Racers with a spot in 19^th place, an improvement of nine spots from round-2 with a final tally of 80-75-74=229.

With the spring season now underway, the next competition for the Racers is in Charleston, S.C., at the Rivertowne Invitational (Feb. 26-27).
