The Racers are slated to open up Missouri Valley Conference play on the road with the Evansville Purple Aces for a three-game series at Charles H. Braun Stadium in Evansville, Indiana March 22-24.
Murray State has been on a hot streak of late, winning three-straight games and eight of their last nine. The Racers have recorded eight games thus far this season scoring at least 10 runs.

The Aces enter the series with a 9-11 record under head coach Wes Carroll, who is in his 16th season leading the Evansville baseball program with a combined record of 398-419 since the 2009 season.
Evansville is led offensively by Mark Shallenberger and Brent Widder. Shallenberger is the team leader in batting average (.403), runs (23) and base hits (29). His batting average and runs scored both rank among the top five in the MVC. Widder leads the team in home runs (6) and RBIs (20).
As a team, Evansville leads the conference in doubles and is among the top three in batting average and base hits.
The Aces' pitching staff is headed by Kenton Deverman, who has totaled 24 strikeouts through 30 1/3 innings on the mound and holds a 4.75 ERA. Donovan Schultz leads the team with 26 strikeouts followed by Shane Harris who has amassed 25 punchouts this season.
