Racers vs Miami (OH) in Sweetens Cove Match Play

The Murray State men's golf team took on the Miami (OH) Redhawks Monday in the quarterfinals of the Sweetens Cove Intercollegiate in South Pittsburg, Tenn.

The morning set of six head-to-head matches saw the Racers fall to the No. 1 seeded Redhawks 6-0.

The No. 8 seeded Racers took on No. 4 seed South Dakota State in the afternoon, but the matches were halted because of darkness. In matches that will be finished Tuesday morning, Murray State's Jay Nimmo and Kamaren Cunningham each led their 1-UP.

The Racers are playing one of the top courses in the nation as Sweetens Cove has been ranked as high as No. 21 by Golfweek in their list of the best course to play in the USA. In 2019. construction of the King-Collins designed course was supported by the likes of NFL great Peyton Manning and international tennis star Andy Roddick.
