Racers 13th - Nimmo 8th At Peoples Championship - Murray State University Athletics

The Murray State men's golf team has share of 13^th place after the first round of the Peoples Golf Championship - Presented by Sea Palms Resort in St. Simons Island, Georgia.

The Racers' 291 was tied for 13^th with Rio Grande Valley, in front of Central Michigan (293) and behind Marshall (290). Davidson was the round-1 leader at 274.

Jay Nimmo led the Racers with a spot in eighth-place after a 2-under par 69. He played the outward nine in 3-under, but was 1-over on the inward nine. Nimmo is in the hunt for the medalist championship, only four shots off the lead of Shane Ochs of Wright State who is the leader with an 6-under par 65.

The second round is set for Friday morning with the final round on .
