Carter Earns MVC Player of the Week Honor

Carter and the Racers play next week in the MVC Women’s Golf Championship
Murray State's Payton Carter was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week as announced by the league office in St. Louis. Carter shared the award with Evansville's Kate Patrova.

Carter, a senior from Henderson, Kentucky, posted a medalist win on scores of 71-74-68=213 at the Jan Weaver Invitational at Miller Memorial Golf Course in Murray.

Carter led a great showing for the Racers as Ella Scherer, Patti Patterson and Kaitlyn Zieba gave MSU four of the top-5 spots in the 54-hole event.

Up next for the Racers is their second appearance in Missouri Valley Conference Championship. Annbriar Golf Club in Waterloo, Illinois is the site of the 54-hole event that is played Sunday through Tuesday (April 14-16). The schedule of play calls for 18 holes each day.
