Shaving Strokes – Racers Jump To 4th at MVC Golf Championship

The Murray State Racers improved by seven shots from the first round to the second at the Club at Porto Cima
The Murray State men's golf team jumped up to fourth place after the second round of the at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship at The Club at Porto Cima in Sunrise Beach, Missouri.
Carding the second-best round of the day with a 289, the Racers score line of 296-289=585 moved them into fourth, three shots ahead of fifth-place Belmont (588) and two shots from third place Valparaiso (583).
In round two, the Racers were paced by a pair of 1-under-par 71 scores by Kamaren Cunningham and Lennon Albans. Jay Nimmo carded a 73 and shared ninth place overall with teammate Albans at 145.
The final round of the The Valley Championship gets under way Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. The Racers will be paired again with Belmont and Drake.
