Racers Tabbed Second Overall Seed In Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Tournament

Murray State looks to make a deep run in the postseason under head coach Dan Skirka.
The Racers enter the 2024 Missouri Valley Conference baseball tournament as the No. 2 overall seed behind top-seeded Indiana State. The tournament is set to take place May 21-25 at Charles H. Braun Stadium in Evansville, Indiana hosted by the Evansville Purple Aces.
Murray State's second-place regular season finish is tied for the highest finish under head coach Dan Skirka. In 2021, the Racers saw themselves as the second overall seed in the Ohio Valley Conference baseball tournament.
Murray State has turned in one of the most historic seasons in program history, having set team records in home runs, runs scored, base hits and RBIs. With their win to clinch the sweep over Bradley on Saturday, MSU currently holds the second-most single-season wins in team history. The school record currently sits at 40 wins from the 1975 season.
The Racers earned a first-round bye and open tournament play on Wednesday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m. CT against the winner of the first-round matchup between Southern Illinois and Belmont.
