Jackson, Veber Earn Postseason Honors

Taylor Jackson has been named MVC Defensive Player of the Year as Jenna Veber Named First Team All-MVC.
The Murray State Softball's Taylor Jackson and Jenna Veber earn Missouri Valley Conference postseason honors as announced by the league this morning.

Jackson has been named MVC Defensive Player of the Year after starting for all 52 games as the Racers' catcher. She is tied for third in the NCAA Division in runners caught stealing with 17 through the season. She also posted 190 putouts and 222 catches. She is also included in the MVC All-Defensive Team.

The Smithfield, Kentucky native is also named Second Team All-MVC after posting 44 hits and 13 RBIs along with her defensive output.

Veber earns a spot in the First Team All-MVC selection after posting the second lowest ERA in the MVC (1.28). She threw 13 complete games with four shutouts and one no-hitter.

The Racers will face UIC in the first round of the MVC Tournament, today.
