Kelly Joins Soccer Staff Ahead Of 2024 Season

Emily Kelly joins Matt Lodge as a graduate assistant coaching the Racers goalkeepers.
Murray State head coach Matt Lodge announced the arrival of new graduate assistant Emily Kelly ahead of the 2024 season. Kelly joins the staff coaching the goalies.
Kelly, a native of Wilson, New York, arrives to Murray, Kentucky with a United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping Level 1 diploma and professional playing experience. In 2023, she played one year of professional soccer at Gungahlin United FC in Canberra, Australia before coaching the goalkeepers of their youth academy. During her playing time at Gungahlin United, she was named the Federation Cup Final MVP.
In 2023, Kelly joined the Buffalo State soccer staff as a volunteer coach overseeing the goalkeepers before coaching the goalies at FC Berlin in 2024.
During her playing years, Kelly was a five-year starter at University at Buffalo from 2018 to 2022. She made the 2018 MAC All-Freshman team before being named First Team All-MAC in back-to-back years (2021-22). Kelly was also a two-time All-MAC Tournament Team selection in 2020 and 2022.
The 2022 season was a breakout year for Kelly, who was named the MAC Goalkeeper of the year and tabbed Second Team All-American that season after leading the nation in shutouts at the end of the regular season.
She is Buffalo's all-time winningest goalie and all-time leader in shutouts.
Kelly graduated from Buffalo in December 2022 after double majoring in Communication B.A. and Psychology B.S.
