Bass Awarded First Career Weekly Honors

Breece Bass has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Week.
Freshman Breece Bass has been named the Missouri Valley Conference's Women's Soccer Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday morning.
"Really happy for Breece and proud of her," head coach Matt Lodge said. "She has worked tirelessly since getting to campus and it's fun to see her get what she deserves. Just the start of a great MSU career for Breece."
Bass played a total of 130 minutes in two matches at Cincinnati and Southeast Missouri, scoring her first two career collegiate goals on Sunday against the Redhawks. Her first goal came in the sixth minute of the match to give Murray State an early 1-0 lead.
After SEMO scored the equalizer in the 85th minute, Bass turned back down the field on the kickoff to score her first career game-winner just eight seconds later. In her first two matches she put three of her four shots taken in frame.Â
Bass and the Racers face Xavier for their regular season home opener on Thursday, August 22 at 4 p.m. CT at Cutchin Field in Murray, Kentucky.
