The sophomore keeper earned a new career high in saves and her seventh career clean sheet.
Griselda Revolorio was named the Missouri Valley Conference's Goalkeeper of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
"Gigi has started this season off the way she ended last season," head coach Matt Lodge said. "She is so dependable and her winning mentality is something that bleeds into the team."
The sophomore set a new single-match career high with 12 saves recorded on 30 shots, the most shots Revolorio has faced in a single match, against a top-20 nationally ranked opponent in #19 Xavier on Thursday. Following that performance, Revolorio etched in her first clean sheet of the 2024 season and the seventh in her collegiate career after facing Arkansas State.
The Red Wolves took 15 shots but only put three of those on target, all of which were knocked away by the Washington, Indiana native.
Thus far, the second-year keeper has a save percentage of 82.8% and a goals against average of 1.25, leading the MVC with an average of six saves per match and 24 total saves. Her 24 saves are also currently tied for the 14th-most in the nation.
She currently holds the program's single-season goals against average record of 0.61 that was set last year.
"[I'm] happy for her and the back line to get their first clean sheet of the season," Lodge added. "Hopefully they get some confidence from that."
Revolorio and the Racers host the Austin Peay Governors on Thursday, August 29 at 3 p.m. CT at Cutchin Field in Murray, Kentucky.
