Murray State Drops Doubleheader at Vanderbilt to Close Fall Slate

Murray State baseball faced Vanderbilt in two seven-inning games of fall ball action, falling 7-1 and 10-1.
The Racers used nine different pitchers across both games, with Jacob Hustedde leading the bullpen in Game 1 after tossing two innings with five strikeouts while allowing one run on one hit. Senior Jack Wajda threw two innings in Game 2, striking out three.
Oregon transfer Daylan Pena led the Racers at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a double and a walk across both games. Returning senior Luke Mistone added the team's other extra-base hit, ripping a double off the left-field wall in Game 2.
Murray State will wrap up its fall schedule with the Blue and Gold Scrimmage on Oct. 31 at Johnny Reagan Field.
