Racers Fourth Heading To Banister Classic Final Day

The Murray State women's golf team fell back a spot into fourth place Monday after the second round of the Chris Banister Classic at Silver Springs Golf Course in Oneonta, Alabama.

After a Sunday 313, the Racers moved the wrong direction on moving day, adding four shots for a second round 317 for a 630 total. Murray State trails third place Samford by three shots as Tuesday brings the final round. Host Jacksonville State and Richmond are tied for the lead at 609.

Through 36 holes, Elin Tynan tops the Racers with rounds of 75-79=154 with a spot in seventh place.

The weather conditions made the day a challenge for the field of 43 competitors after morning rain gave way to a blustery afternoon.
