Minor Named MVC Freshman of the Week

The freshman received MVC recognition after a big weekend at the Racer Classic.
Kenley Minor of Murray State softball was named MVC Freshman of the Week on Tuesday afternoon by the conference office in St. Louis, Mo.
Minor led the Racers at the plate as they picked up a pair of wins at the Racer Classic. The freshman finished the weekend with a .615 batting average, a 1.000 slugging percentage, and a .667 on-base percentage. On 13 at-bats, Minor tallied eight hits, six RBI, three doubles, and a triple. She also added a pair of walks and eight putouts.
Minor is the first Racer to receive conference honors this season. The Clinton, Ind. native is batting .295 on the season and leads the team with 18 hit and six doubles. She also features a pair of triples and ten RBI. Â
The Racers open  Missouri Valley Conference play with a midweek trip to Nashville, Tenn. to face Belmont for a 3:30 p.m. CT game. They will return home for a weekend series with Bradley starting on Friday, March 14.
