Murray State Baseball Pitcher Nic Schutte was named Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week the league announced Tuesday
Murray State pitcher Nic Schutte was named MVC Pitcher of the Week for his heroics on Sunday against Bradley.

Schutte, a junior out of Louisville, Ky, hurled eight shutout innings with 10 strikeouts while allowing just two hits. His 10 strikeouts were the most in a start for a Murray State pitcher this season and the most in a start by a Racers pitcher since 2022. He improved his record to 2-2 with a 3.89 ERA.

Schutte now leads the Racers in strikeouts with 35.

The Racers are back in action against Bellarmine Tuesday.
