Racers vs Ole Miss Friday in NCAA Oxford Regional

The Racers are in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2003
The Murray State Racers take on the Ole Miss Rebels Friday in the 2025 NCAA Tournament Oxford Regional at Swayze Field in a scheduled 7 p.m. first pitch at Swayze Field in Mississippi.

The Racers enter the weekend with 39 wins, one from tying the program record of 40 victories set in 1975.

Ole Miss is the first seed and the Racers are the fourth seed and meet in the second game of the day, after the second seed Georgia Tech faces the fourth seed Western Kentucky.

Game Notes
- 2025 is the 86th season of collegiate baseball at Murray State & third in the Missouri Valley Conference.
- MSU has three prior NCAA appearances in 1975, 1979 and 2003.
- The Racers are 2-6 all-time in the NCAA Tournament with both wins coming in the 1979 Starkville Regional.
- MSU also played in the Starkville Regional in 1975 and in the Hattiesburg Regional in 2003.
- The Racers (39-13) were 15-6 at home, 14-6 on the road and 10-1 at neutral sites in 2025 and enter the NCAAs having won their last five and 24 of 29 games in April and May combined.
- MSU's 2025 season marks the fifth-consecutive with 30 or more wins, a program record.
- MSU bested the four-straight 30-win teams from 1973-1976.
- MSU shared the MVC regular season title with Missouri State as each were 17-8.
- The Racers started MVC play 2-4 after losing their first two MVC series 2-1 at home vs Evansville and at Illinois State and then won eight-straight weekends.
- MSU scored non-conference victories over Western Kentucky (Home Won 2-1 12 inn, Feb. 24),
- Kentucky (Away Won 5-4, March 18) and played #17 Ole Miss to a 10-inning defeat (Lost 8-7, March 7).
- MSU's All-MVC selections included 11 different players and head coach Dan Skirka named MVC Coach of the Year and Connor Cunningham as MVC Co-Freshman of the Year
- The Racers went 4-0 to win the MVC Tournament title last week in Normal, Ill. (Host-Illinois State).
- MSU defeated Belmont 15-14 (11 innings), Southern Illinois 10-5, UIC 5-2 and Missouri State 10-5.
- Murray State Head Coach Dan Skirka celebrated his 200th career win in his seventh season (all at Murray State) when the Racers defeated Missouri State 16-5 at home (May 15).
- Skirka is the fourth coach in MSU history to reach 200 wins, following legendary Johnny Reagan who coached the program to 776 wins from 1958 to 1993 and also Rob McDonald (2004-14, 247 wins) and Mike Thieke (1994-03, 231 wins).
- MSU's trio of Kane Elmy, Nic Schutte and Isaac Silva have the 3rd, 4th & 5th best ERAs in the MVC.
