Cunningham, Hustedde Earn MVC Player of the Week Honors

MURRAY, Ky. — After dominant performances this week during a sweep of Bradley, Casen Cunningham earned the MVC Player of the Week honor, and Jacob Hustedde was named MVC Pitcher of the Week.
Cunningham led the Racers last week with eight hits, batting .500 with three doubles and eight RBIs. Cunningham drew four walks across the four games while striking out just once.
Cunningham set a new single-game career high with four hits in Sunday's contest, paired with season highs in runs scored, RBIs, doubles and stolen bases. Cunningham is currently riding a nine-game hitting streak, with two multi-hit and three multi-RBI performances.
Jacob Hustedde had a career day Saturday, tossing six scoreless innings with a career-high 11 strikeouts, the most in a game since Jacob Pennington struck out 12 against Valparaiso on May 11, 2024.
The junior lowered his season ERA to 1.61, with just two earned runs allowed over his last 26.2 innings pitched.
The Racers are set to take on SEMO tonight in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, before hosting Belmont in their 2026 home opener weekend.
