BB&T Presents: Racers Got Talent 2011
Rules:
To Audition:
To audition and compete in the "Racers Got Talent" competition, all members of the act must be an enrolled student at Murray State University through the duration of the competition (ends February 18,2012). Any member of the act under age 18 must have the written consent of their parent or legal guardian to participate and present that written consent at the audition. To participate in the "Racers Got Talent" competition, all acts must attend the November 1 audition, unless they are the winner of the Fan Favorite contest. All acts that attend the audition must consent to have their audition filmed or they must be available to attend one of two studio filming sessions that will be offered within one week of the audition. All acts must acknowledge that only a one and a half minute segment of their performance will be posted online and a segment in length of between 20 and 30 seconds will be shown at men's basketball games. Not all acts who participate in the audition will be part of the competition, but only 16 groups who are eligible and are determined to be the best 16 acts of the audition. Acts that will not be able to participate in additional filming, the live performance by the two finalists on February 11, 2012 and the announcement of the winner February 18, 2012 are not eligible to compete.
Recordings and Images:
All recordings, audio and video, and still photo images that are made of your act during the audition, filming or live-performance portions of "Racers Got Talent" or that you provide, in physical form or electronically, to representatives of the "Racers Got Talent" competition are property of Murray State Athletics and are subject to future use by Racer Athletics or the sponsor BB&T.
Original Works:
Content, including music, lyrics, spoken word or other aspects of a performance, that the performer or group identifies as original work must have been created by the member or members of the group and no one else can hold any rights to this content. Content that the performer(s) do not claim as their own work may be performed, but must be attributed to its originator(s).
Prizes:
The winners will be chosen through online voting on GoRacers.com. Online voting will be used to choose a top eight out of eighteen, a top four out of eight, two finalists out of the top four and a winner from the two finalists. The winning act will receive $500 dollars from BB&T only if they meet all eligibility requirements.
Rule Breaking:
Rule breaking, including but not limited to providing false information on registration forms, vote tampering, altering the act without permission from Racer Athletics, and claiming another's work as your own, will result in your expulsion from the competition.
Fan Favorite Contest:
Can’t come to the Nov. 1 auditions? You still have a chance to compete in Racers Got Talent by entering the “Fan Favorite” contest. Any student can upload a one-and-a-half to three minute video of your performance to the official Murray State Racers Athletics Facebook page. The two acts whose videos have the most “Likes” by noon on Monday, Oct. 31, will be invited to join Racers Got Talent and have their videos filmed in a studio on campus. Videos that depict performances deemed inappropriate for the Racers Got Talent competition will be immediately removed from the Facebook page and declared ineligible for the contest. All acts that post their video to Facebook must sign-up using the form below, but the “Fan Favorite” winners will be allowed to bypass the audition. Any act that enters Racers Got Talent through the “Fan Favorite” competition must agree to the same terms and conditions as the acts that auditioned.
