Policies for Granting, Continuing and Renewing Athletics Scholarships
A goal in Intercollegiate Athletics is to provide for the maximum scholarship funding allowed by the NCAA regulations. Until funding becomes available to meet this goal, the distribution of aid will be made by the Athletics Director and the Head Coach of the respective sport.
• All student-athletes should complete and submit a Pell Grant form and University packet for student-financial aid; and renew them on an annual basis.
• Aid will be awarded on a one-year renewal basis.
• Financial aid renewal contracts will be completed prior to summer break or sent to student-athletes at their permanent residence prior to July 1.
• Any student-athlete whose scholarship is not renewed (non-renewal) or downgraded will be notified by July 1. The student-athlete has the right to appeal the action through the Director of Financial Aid. This right to appeal will elapse after 15 working days from the receipt of the written notification.
• After the first 2 weeks of a semester have elapsed, no adjustments to the level of financial aid for a student may occur (all revisions and/or adjustments should occur during the summer); unless circumstances change.
• The Athletics Director must approve all summer aid. See Summer School Aid section.
