Adam Lairamore enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Racers’ baseball team in 2016-17 after spending the previous three seasons at Lindsey Wilson College.
At Lindsey Wilson, Lairamore helped lead the Blue Raiders to a share of the Mid-South Conference regular season championship and an at-large bid to the NAIA Baseball Opening Round. LWC won five-straight elimination games to win its bracket and advance to the 2016 NAIA World Series for the second consecutive season. Lairamore helped coach the team to a program-best No. 6 ranking and also coached a pair of players that made the NAIA World Series All-Tournament Team - the first 2 in program history.
In 2015 he helped guide the Blue Raiders to their first appearance at the NAIA Baseball World Series in and a final ranking of 10th in the nation. Lindsey Wilson also captured the Mid-South Conference Tournament title for just the second time in program history that season.
Lairamore helped coach the MSC Player of the Year and NAIA First Team All-American Alex Bautista in 2015, who was later selected in the 22nd round of the MLB Draft by the Chicago Cubs. He also coached Washington Nationals signee Carlos Pena and Texas Rangers signee Scott Sebald while at LWC.
During his time with the Blue Raiders, Lairamore coached ten First Team All-MSC selections, five Second Team All-MSC members and a pair of NAIA All-Americans.
Lairamore also coached the Front Royal Cardinals of the Valley Baseball League in 2015, a collegiate summer wood bat league. With the Cardinals, he coached players from all levels of collegiate competition.
Prior to joining Lindsey Wilson, Lairamore was an assistant coach at Columbia State Community College for two years, where he worked with catchers and was in charge of hitting instruction. His responsibilities included organizing conditioning programs, practices, coordinating travel arrangements and maintenance of the field and equipment. While at Columbia State, Lairamore helped 27 student-athletes move on to four-year institutions, including 11 NCAA Division I schools and had three student-athletes selected in the MLB Draft.
Prior to his time at CSCC, Lairamore was an assistant coach for the Middle Tennessee Outlaws, an amateur baseball organization, and also spent five years as a student assistant coach at his alma mater, Middle Tennessee State University. While at MTSU, he was part of the 2009 Sun Belt Conference Championship team that participated in the NCAA Tournament Louisville Regional.
Lairamore graduated from MTSU in 2011 with a degree in physical education.
