Sheila Smith – Women’s Basketball, 1985-1989
- Smith had a tremendous career with the Racers that has stood the test of time as the top scorer in the history of the Murray State program.
- She was the first Racer women's basketball player to have her basketball number retired. Her No. 24 hangs from the rafters at the CFSB Center.
- She finished her career at MSU as the leading scorer with 2,287 points.Â
- As of 2018, her scoring total was still eighth all-time in the Ohio Valley Conference.
- She was a three-time All OVC First Team selection and once a second team pick.
- Was named Honorable mention All America selection by Women’s Basketball Yearbook.Â
- Held 10 Racer women's program records when she finished her outstanding career.
- Finished her career with the following MSU records:Â points, points per game (19.7), games played (116), field goals (892), field goals attempted (1855), three point field goals attempted (106), free throws (467), free throws attempted (628), steals (200), minutes (3,752).
