- Inducted into the Murray State Hall of Fame, Ashley Hayes was a big part of the greatest period of Racer women's basketball from 2005-09.
- From Trenton, Tenn., Hayes was recruited by Joi Williams by assistant coach Rob Cross.
- Hayes also played for Jody Adams and later for Coach Cross, as he became Racers’ head coach.
- Was first Racer to win consecutive OVC Player of the Year awards in 2008 and 2009.
- Was a two-time MSU Female Athlete of the Year winner.
- Finished her career with 2,007 points for second place all-time at MSU at the time of the end of her collegiate career with the Racers.
- Reached career 1,000 points on Jan. 24, 2008 in a home game vs Tennessee Tech.
- Helped Racers win back-to-back OVC regular season championships in 2008 and 2009.
- The Racers' first OVC title in 2008, led the team to their first NCAA Tournament appearance.
- MSU played Duke at the NCAA Tournament and Hayes scored 26 points.
- Hayes and the Racers racked up 57 wins in her junior and senior seasons.
- As a senior, was named to the Naismith Trophy Top-50 Watch List and was a finalist for the State Farm Coaches' All-America Basketball Team.
- Hayes was a durable and dependable talent that played in 123 games, the most in the MSU program history as of 2009.
- She made 112 starts which was ranked second in 2009.
- Hayes was second at MSU with 809 made field goals and third with 935 rebounds in 2009.
- In 2009, set the MSU single-game scoring record with 46 points at Tennessee State on Feb. 4, 2009.
- Topped the previous mark of 43 points by Joi Scott, also at TSU, in 2006.
- Professionally, signed a free agent contract with the Connecticut Sun of the WNBA.
- Played overseas for three teams in Germany and Portugal.
- Her jersey No. 23 was retired on Dec. 30, 2023.
