Charles Allen

Charles Allen – Track, 1962-1963, 1964-1965
- Allen, a hurdler and long jumper on the track team was one of the most decorated athletes in the history of the program.
 - As a freshman in 1962, he won OVC titles.
 - He set set Murray State records in the low hurdles and long jump and he tied the record in the high hurdles.Â
 - In 1963, he missed all of the season with injury.
 - He returned as a dominant talent in 1964 and won OVC titles at high hurdles and intermediate hurdles, both MSU records.
 - He was also part of the OVC champion for MSU in the 440x4 relay.
 - In the 1965 OVCÂ meet, he won the intermediate hurdles in record time and even though he finished second in the OVC in the high hurdles, his 14.2 time was a record and it still stands.
 - His best career performances at Murray State was a 14.2 in the highs hurdles, 37.1 in the 330 intermediate hurdles, 24.3 in the low hurdles, 23 feet, 5 inches in the long jump, and 44 feet, 10 inches in the triple jump.Â
 - He helped set the MSU record for the 4x440 replay at 41.2 and a mile relay at  3:13.6.
 - After his time at MSU, Allen served in the United States Air Force.
