- Becomes the 40th MSU player from football to be inducted into the MSU Hall of Fame.
- Named All-OVC in 1978 and 1979.
- Named OVC Offensive Player of the Year in 1978.
- Named Honorable Mention All-America in 1978.
- Selected to the West Kentucky College All-Star Team in 1979.
- In 1978, rushed for 1,217 yards, fourth on the all-time list at MSU as of his induction in 2018. He was the top rusher in the OVC and sixth in NCAA 1-AA in 1979.
- Finished with 2,522 rushing yards (1977-79), second all-time at MSU.
- His 12 touchdowns in 1978 is fourth at MSU for a single season.
- His 17 touchdowns at MSU is 10th all-time.
- In 1978, he had 10 games of 100 yard rushing games.
- Scored four touchdowns to set the school record (still No. 2 in MSU history as of 2018) in the homecoming game against ETSU.
- Had a career-high 203 yards rushing on 27 carries against East Tennessee State at home (Oct. 21, 1978).
- Led MSU in rushing attempts and rushing yards in three-straight seasons in 1977 (122-565), 1978 (253-1,217) and 1979 (156-634).
- Played on the Racers’ 1979 OVC Championship team that was 9-2-1 (6-0 OVC), but only appeared in the first five games before being sidelined with a knee injury.
- Served the Racers as team captain for three seasons.
- Played for three coaches: Bill Furgerson (1977), Mike Gottfried (1978-80) and Frank Beamer (1981).
- Was a popular and highly regarded talent out of East Prairie, Missouri. He hailed from the same area of Southeast Missouri of MSU all-time rusher Don Clayton who grew up in Malden.
