Dew Drop Rowlett – Women's Basketball 1933-1935 and Women's Administrator 1965-1978 (Deceased)
Rowlett made contributions to women’s athletics that extend far beyond the campus of Murray State, Rowlett was an outstanding athlete in high school and at Freed-Hardeman Junior College and Murray State, earning all-state and all-conference honors. After her graduation in 1935, she was recruited to play Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball, where she won all-America honors.
After a 30-year career as girls’ physical education teacher and coach at Murray High School, Rowlett accepted a position as assistant professor of health, physical education and recreation at Murray State in 1965. While at MSU, she also coached women’s basketball for 10 years. As basketball coach, she led MSU to four regional tournaments and four runner-up finishes in AIAW district tournaments.
