Jack Wolf

Jack Wolf - Football (1967-71)
- Played for Racer Football and head coach Bill Ferguson from 1967-71.
- He joins nine other MSU football players frm his era including: Coach Bill Ferguson, Rick Fisher, Frank Head, Harvey Tanner and Larry Tillman.
- Named to the All-Ohio Valley Conference as a receiver in 1969.
- In 2014 was honored with the Murray State Distinguished Alumni Award.
- Became and is still at his induction into the MSU Hall of Fame, one of the top horse racing minds in the world.
- In 2000, he and his wife, Laurie, founded Starlight Racing in Louisville.
- In that first year, the Wolf’s purchased six yearlings at the Fasig-Tipton July Sale in Kentucky, and among the recruiting class was a very special horse named Harlan’s Holiday.
- Harlan’s Holiday was a colt that ran with his heart on his sleeve.
- He amassed $3.6M in earnings, three Grade 1 wins, and a second in the world’s richest race, the coveted Dubai World Cup.
- Harlan's Holiday was the burst that led Starlight Racing into a tremendous run on the world horse racing stage.
- Starlight Racing has gone forward and produced major champions including 2018 Triple Crown winner "Justify" and 2020 Kentucky Derby champion "Authentic".
- As of 2024, Wolf is part of an organization that has produced two Hall of Fame horses, a Triple Crown winner, nine Eclipse Awards, 39 Grade-1 victories, and more than 110 stakes victories.
- A native of Louisville, Wolf had success after Murray State when he started a hedge fund with Columbus Partners in Atlanta, and stayed on to manage the fund until his retirement.
