Jessica Widman – Women’s Golf, 1996-2000
Widman was a three-time first team OVC All-Conference selection and an important part of the Racers three OVC Championship teams (1997, 1998, 1999). She was the first player in the MSU program to be selected (alternate) for the NCAA Regional Tournament. She earned 25 career top 10 finishes and was named to 15 All-Tournament teams. Widman excelled in the classroom and was a three-time selection to the NCAA All Scholar Golf Team. She graduated from MSU in May 2000 Magna Cum Laude and was named Outstanding Student in Economics. She was a four time recipient of the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Widman and her husband, Nathan Grace, reside in Henderson, KY with their son Aidan. She a teacher in the Henderson, KY school system. Jessica Widman is the first women’s golfer to be inducted into the MSU Athletic Hall of Fame.
I met my husband, Nathan Grace, at Murray State University. We were married on September 2, 2000. We moved to Henderson, KY in 2002. I went back to school and obtained a teaching certificate. We both teach in the Henderson County School district. I am a business teacher at the high school. We had our son, Aidan Ryan, on May 4, 2005. We are expecting our second baby in January 2007. I am involved in the Women’s Kentucky State Golf Association and am on the Board of Directors for the Henderson area. We host the Kentucky Women’s State Amateur Tournament. I keep in touch with Coach Velvet Milkman and all of my teammates from Murray. I feel so lucky to have Murray as a chapter of my life.
